15. AI Coach conversation data
Bravel's Spiro AI Coach feature uses OpenAI's API (including gpt-4o-mini for chat responses and whisper-1 for voice-to-text transcription). When you interact with Spiro:
- Conversation history is held only in your device's memory during the active chat session and is notstored on Bravel's servers or persistently on your device. Closing the chat or restarting the app discards the conversation.
- Your message, recent conversation context, and basic profile information (age, gender, height, weight, fitness level) are transmitted to OpenAI to generate a response.
- If you use voice input, audio is temporarily transmitted to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and is not stored by Bravel after transcription is complete.
- Per OpenAI's API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. For more information, please review OpenAI's API Data Usage Policies.
16. On-device pose detection
Bravel uses Google ML Kit's pose detection technology to count repetitions during exercise challenges (such as push-up tracking). Pose detection is performed entirely on your device — camera frames and motion data are processed locally in real-time and are nevertransmitted to Bravel's servers, OpenAI, Google, or any third party. No video or images from this feature are stored on your device after the exercise session ends.
17. Managing health data permissions
You can revoke Bravel's access to Apple Health or Google Health Connect at any time through your device's system settings:
- iOS:Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Bravel
- Android: Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Bravel
Revoking access does not delete the historical health data already synced to Bravel. To delete previously synced health data, please use the in-app account deletion or contact us at contact@bravelapp.com.
18. Not a medical service
Bravel is a fitness and wellness application. The information and AI-generated recommendations provided through Bravel, including those from the Spiro AI Coach, are for general informational and motivational purposes only and are not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting a new exercise program, dietary plan, or making changes to your health regimen.
